A jet transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the plane's windshield, as stated by an official statement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft landed following established safety measures and all passengers, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative said in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a short visit to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This event is not the first time that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a senior official has suffered mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was forced to turn back to the US capital after encountering a technical issue.
