Barça Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition 30 months after they moved out to allow renovations to start.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized a public practice on the home pitch on 7 November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht next month at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
