Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday evening. The athlete was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

This update on his health arrives after the sports world shared condolences for the star in the wake of the terrible crash.
